The Chandos Series

The last time we were up north at the Wren family cottage on Lake Chandos we thought it might be our last visit. So, we had Madison gather some collage items so that we would have something to remember it by. My memories are solid since I was there most every summer of my childhood. Unfortunately, my kids have only had a handful of visits and won't have any memory of the time they spent there. I have these frames hung in my hallway and they are very special to me...

First Lost Tooth!

Madison lost her first tooth on February 2nd, 2008! It was loose for about a week and a half. We went to go see Alvin and the Chipmunks, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and when we got to the car, the tooth was barely hanging on by a thread. She was too frightened to pull it, but she finally agreed to let me try. One light tug was all that was needed. The tooth fairy brought her a certificate and one dollar. She let her keep this tooth since it's the first one but we are not sure what happens with all the rest.

Sydney Sings

Since the Little Mermaid is now on stage in New York, we have seen a lot of Ariel on TV. The girls can't seem to get enough of the song, "Part of Your World". Here is Syd's brief concert. She actually knows much more of the song but keeps getting camera shy so this was the best segment I could get:

Maddie Is Officially a Brownie Girl Scout

Madison had her Investiture Ceremony last week to officially induct her into the cult called Girl Scouts. We think it will be good for her, and it's a cheap extra curricular activity that doesn't take up too much family time. The cookie sales are the worst part - and also that part of their weekly pledge "to serve God and Our Country". Makes me cringe just a little bit...

Interior House Shots

Francesca requested some more inside house shots... Sorry to bore the rest of you! We finally got curtains for the large front window, and the play room patio doors, but all the rest are either curtain-less, or have a nifty vinyl shower curtain stapled to the frame. We need rugs for the living room and playroom, but the budget will not allow for such luxuries.
